Stunning music for your wedding day
A beautiful and inspiring musical accompaniment for your wedding day by one of the UK’s leading and most versatile violinists.
Simon Jordan was one of the youngest-ever winners of the Royal Academy of Music violin prize and has performed on tour around the world as a soloist and played for royalty and the prime minister, as well as for weddings and business events across England and Wales.
Every note is played live, and unlike other violinists there is no hiding behind backing tracks.
The violin can set an inspiring tone for the day by being played in the following situations:
The Wedding CeremonyThe Prelude – As guests arrive, Simon’s music subtly establishes the magical tone of the day
The Processional – The highlight: the bride’s entrance, beautifully underscored with some music she has picked out herself
Signing The Register – Simon can entertain the guests or provide a gentle musical background, if you prefer The Recessional – As the wedding party and guests depart, this can be anything from classical to Take That – “Greatest Day” is a popular favourite
The Wedding ReceptionDrinks Reception – Violinist plays a mixture of classical and popular violin music as bride and groom welcome their guests. Requests happily taken while you are busy being photographed - guests royally entertained!
Wedding Breakfast – As the wedding party and their guests sit down to eat, violinist entertains you with some soft background music, not stifling conversation but still significant enough to entertain. Fill free to tell the violinist what to play – on the spur of the moment if necessary!
The Wedding ViolinistSimon Jordan started playing the violin at age 5, and by age 14 had already achieved Grade 8 with distinction. At age 13 Simon gave his first violin recital (a sell-out) and at age 17 was gigging with bands in London, playing jazz at the Royal Festival Hall, and performing with legendary gypsy bands behind the Iron Curtain in Hungary and the former Czechoslovakia. You may want Simon to play solo violin at your wedding – or to perform with a pianist. His regular performing partners are pianists Jon Spanyol, Stuart Bonner and Martyn Croston. The combination of violin and piano is much more versatile than a string quartet – which, for some reason, ALWAYS sounds like a string quartet – and will work better than a solo violin if you require a musical performance for a long period of time. Simon can provide and bring his own piano; and also amplification for both violin and piano, if the wedding or the venue is big enough! Whatever you choose, Simon will work with you or to your brief to compile a carefully crafted programme of music, making his own arrangements of music weeks before the event.
